Panorama: Heading West by Derek Jay Steen
This photo was taken about 10 minutes after we embarked from Key West.
Taken during the awesome cruise I went on with Rachel and her family in January, 2011. (And by awesome I mean a week of unlimited food and activities with cool people! If you haven’t been on a Carnival cruise before, then I highly suggest you start saving up.)

The Times Are-a Changin’ by Derek Jay Steen
I stumbled across this photo on Sunday when I was looking through ice cream photos on my Flickr. I had a little chuckle when I read my observant description:
This faded KFC sign at the entrance of the KFC on the Pacific Highway in Artarmon got me thinking.KFC used to be pretty simple. Fried Chicken. Now they offer wraps, popcorn chicken, Krushers (ice cream drinks), and many other treats to entice customers to spend more. My Dad once told me that he used to work near this KFC, and he would go there for lunch. Over the many years of change the shop has been redecorated and renovated and this sign has watched it all happen. The sun has faded its once bright colours in to dull hues that will one day fade to white. The times are-a changin’, my friends. And the Colonel watches on as it does.
